A Private Property Wedding: Meg & Luke @McGuigan Estate

meg & luke

Planning a wedding is no small feat, but when you're working with a blank canvas on a private estate, the stakes are raised even higher. Believe us when we say, it is not for the faint hearted or inexperienced! Meg and Luke's wedding was a logistical challenge that required meticulous planning, hard work, and of course the experience and expertise of the Honey Lane wedding team. This wedding was a true testament to Honey Lane’s specialists skills in blank canvas, private property weddings.

Transforming a private estate into a wedding venue is no easy task. With no existing infrastructure, we had to start from scratch. The first challenge was to ensure a level surface for the large 26 x 14 dinner marquee, which required excavating the land. The bump-in process, spanning four intense days, involved coordinating numerous vendors, setting up equipment, and ensuring every detail was perfectly in place. Additionally, we had to bring in essential amenities such as skip bins, bathrooms, generators, cool rooms, and even drinking water since there was none available on the property. These preparations were crucial to provide a seamless experience for the massive 270+ guests who were attending this unique wedding.

The styling concept for the wedding ceremony and reception was natural, understated elegance. Allowing the gorgeous location to shine, the Honey Lane styling team chose greens, whites, and hints of blush which blended seamlessly with the leafy green surroundings and Australian native flora. The soft colour palette created a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that allowed the guests to sit back and enjoy the glorious wedding production unfolding before their eyes.

The couple, entertainment veterans in their own rights, wanted their wedding to be an unforgettable celebration that their guests would never forget. With the bride being a DJ (DJ Feline), we knew that music would be a central element. With a curated lineup of five different acts, there was never a dull moment throughout the course of the wedding which kept the guests in the party mood. Little did they know what was to come…

As if one marquee wasn't enough, Meg and Luke had a huge surprise in store for their guests. A separate marquee was set up for a secret after party, and it remained a well-kept secret until the time was right.! Stepping into the after party marquee was like entering a whole new world. Handmade tinsel chandeliers adorned the space, custom neon signs illuminated the walls, and cowboy hats were handed out, transforming the atmosphere from sophisticated to a wild party. The entrance design added an element of excitement and intrigue, creating a memorable secret walkway from the elegant dinner to the vibrant after party.

What a wedding! Meg and Luke's private property wedding was an absolute logistical masterpiece. It showcased the expertise of the Honey Lane team in creating exceptional events from scratch. Executing a wedding of this scale required long hours and a thoroughly dedicated Wedding Planning & Styling team. It was a magnificent showcase of the dedication the Honey Lane wedding team has to creating unforgettable wedding experiences. We take the utmost pride in our ability to turn visions into realities, even in the most challenging settings.
