It's no wonder that Tara and James, two lovers of Summer, chose a beautiful summer's day in February to celebrate their wedding at Dark Horse Vineyard. Our sister venue, with its grand barn doors, stables and 25 acres of private vineyard is hard to beat if you’re on the hunt for iconic Hunter Valley Wedding venues. Part-owned by Honey Lane owner Lara, Dark Horse Vineyard in Lovedale was the perfect location for their special day.
Tara, an exotic Indian born beauty, found her match in James, a happy expat from Essex, UK, who now calls Australia his favourite place on Earth. The couple decided to tie the knot on a warm day in the Hunter Valley, and our dedicated wedding planning team made sure that the water and drinks flowed to keep the guests refreshed. Stylish parasols and fans were also provided to help beat the heat. Dark Horse Vineyard, with its air-conditioned spaces, provided a welcome relief during the cocktail hour and the reception.
The styling concept that Tara and the Honey Lane styling team envisioned was "modern organic elegance." The colour palette incorporated crisp whites, creams, beiges, and green foliage, creating a sense of timeless beauty that flowed through the floral arrangements, linens, and stationery. To add depth and a modern feel, we introduced a subtle touch of dusty blue, which created captivating accent moments throughout the wedding design. The eye-catching hydrangea flowers and grape arrangements on the tables, along with the unique shapes in the candles and cut-out menus, added an element of intrigue and sophistication. The bare treatment of the wooden dining tables allowed the table settings and florals to truly shine, highlighting the organic, natural beauty of the venue.
One of the standout elements of the day was Tara's glorious wedding gown. It exuded romance and allure, with its sheer sleeve detail and skirt paired with the stunning bodice. The gown was undeniably flattering, perfectly complementing Tara's natural beauty and elegance.
To set the tone for the highly anticipated wedding day and give guests a glimpse of the spectacular wedding venue, our styling team designed a gorgeous wedding invitation. A stunning watercolour illustration of Dark Horse's iconic stables helped to create excitement and anticipation among guests and gave them a little hint of the beautiful wedding that they would be attending. Wedding invitations are a great opportunity to have a little fun, add your personal touch, and do something completely original!
