Sophie is one of Honey Lane's amazing Wedding Planners who truly puts her couples at the centre of all that she does. Sophie brings 10+ years of experience both internationally from the US - actually Hawaii, and locally here in Sydney.
Daughter of a French chef she certainly has an eye for the finer details and is experienced in all facets of weddings from venue management, event design, luxury florals, of course catering. She also has an appreciation of wine.
Having worked in both venue management as well as Wedding Planning, any advice you have for couples choosing a venue?
When choosing a venue, I think it’s important to weigh what is included vs what is not included. Hotels & wedding venues are great if you’re working with a budget as you can receive so much value from your wedding package. However, if you’re the type of person that dreams to work with a blank canvas, that’s also incredibly fun as you have the flexibility to do what you want!
If considering a destination wedding, I would take into account the time of year (weather), local accommodation options for your guest numbers, and travel distance for any elderly guests.

Born & raised in Hawaii & Daughter of a French chef - passion for food and wine runs in the family

Any advice for our couples?
“Sneak away for 10 minutes on your wedding day to take a moment to appreciate all the love in the room. There are not very many occasions in your life where your past, present & future will be all together. It’s something magical.”
What have you seen on Instagram that’s inspired you?
I like to look to interior design accounts for inspiration. I love seeing how bold colours, textures, and neutrals can create a sense of intimacy & openness at the same time.
