Classic Romance in the Hunter Valley
We’ve said it before, and we will say it again; Redleaf Wollombi has to be one of our favourite wedding locations in the Hunter Valley Wedding Region.
You have the entire venue to create your own event suited to your personality and style. It is no wonder why Vanessa and Jason were so drawn to the property right away. Ness and Jase booked us in for Full Planning and Styling; Lara worked on their planning while I moved along with their styling.
To put it simply, “Classic, Romantic and Huge Vibes” is what I took away from our very first style consultation (sounds like my kind of party!). Their polished wedding styling simply drew attention to the effortless nature of the property by exposing a mix of natural textures. It was important to ensure those two worlds collided beautifully.
While styling was at the forefront of their wedding day, planning was just as important, and Lara was working with them on some epic planning suppliers to bring the ultimate ‘vibe’ to the day.
Vanessa and Jason kindly shared a little more about their own experience below!
What made you decide on hiring a wedding planner and stylist for your wedding?
We just knew we would enjoy the day most if we didn't have to worry about all the little details, putting our faith in the hands of a professional to bring a vision to life was such a weight off our shoulders!
The Venue - How did you know it was the one?
As soon as we drove in, I knew it was the one, to the point we actually cancelled our appointments at other venues and found an available date almost immediately! We definitely wanted a non-traditional venue outside Sydney, and when we saw not only the beautiful house but the entire property - we knew it would be a magical spot.
Favourite Memory from your wedding day - Anything from getting ready, ceremony, speeches, dancing etc...
Walking down the aisle with my dad - in the rain! It didn't even matter - that feeling of him giving me away and walking towards Jase would be hard to top! Also, while getting ready, part of Jason's gift was a hanky made from the Hamilton family tartan, in memory of his dad, that was definitely a special touch.
We are glad we … *finish this sentence*
Postponed! Honestly, it was a tough decision but honestly one of the best. The wait was well worth it as we ended up being able to celebrate our special day the exact way we wanted to.
A little lol - A funny moment you will always remember. The speeches! Our Maid of Honour and Best Man had a little rivalry over the speeches and jokes etc, they were awesome - the perfect combination of funny and sentimental.
Word of Advice - Anything you might like to share to soon to be brides and grooms? Try to take it all in, they are right when they say it FLIES BY. If someone wants a photo with you - take it. Take selfies, take photos of moments in the background that you'll want to remember like getting ready with your mum and your girls and taking a second out with your new husband to enjoy the day that is all about you.
