We had the absolute pleasure of working with Rachel & Simon to bring their ultimate wedding of their dreams to life. While living afar in Queensland the couple contacted us to plan, style and co-ordinate their wedding at Redleaf Wollombi. We have contacted the lovely couple to answer some of our burning questions! How did you two love birds meet?
We met the old fashioned way – at a bar (haha). A particularly trashy Brisbane venue called Fridays Riverside. We are proud to say our taste in culinary delights has improved since then.

Describe the vibe you wanted to create for your day.
We wanted to set a high standard of service with a luxury feel, while still being relaxed amongst our guests every step of the way.

Tells us about your ‘something blue’ - we are in love!
I knew I wanted a statement heel to pair with my second look and when I saw those Bottega’s I knew they were the ones! I wasn’t even obsessed with the ‘something blue’ tradition, it was really just an excuse to fit them into the wedding wardrobe somewhere.

The Venue - How did you know it was the one?
After cancelling 2 weddings at a New Zealand winery, we fell in love with Redleaf because it felt a world away from the drama that had consumed Australia for two years. You really are in a little bubble and forgot about the dreaded ‘C’ word for the entire 4 days.

We are glad we....
Did first look photos!! We didn’t want to lose any time with our guests and it didn’t make that ‘aisle moment’ any less special. If anything, it made our first interaction more intimate and removed the pressure for the ceremony.

Favourite moment from your wedding day.
Re-entering the wedding in my second look – it felt like any formalities were over and I could really let loose and have some fun with guests.

A piece of advice…
Allow extra time in your run sheet for half an hour of chill time with your bridesmaids before it’s time to get dressed. It went from 0-100 and I got a little flustered when we ran behind schedule!
