Gemma and Matt picked a unique but incredible venue, St Josephs Guesthouse; an old church that has been renovated internally to be a guesthouse. We had seen some wedding magic styled at this venue previously and we couldn’t wait to collaborate with our couple on their idea of an outdoor wedding celebration with a spin on a festival vibe.
Gemma wanted to pay tribute to the venues countryside location and her love for an elegant and romantic wedding, establishing the blush, timber and brass tones throughout the styling.
With that all being said, they didn’t want anything traditional besides their intimate ceremony! They wanted their guests to be treated to a fun and unique wedding experience. After their ceremony, guests enjoyed some relaxed drinks and nibbles in one of the gardens next to their venue. We placed out timber furniture mixed in with some colourful picnic rugs and cushions for comfort.
Following the cocktail hour was their reception dinner in the top garden, lit up by strings of festoon lighting. Their reception was a relaxed and family styled affair with two long banquet style timber tables, with no seating plan or bridal table. The catering was share cheese boards placed out on the tables and a Mexican and Yum Cha food truck- because who doesn’t love a feast of tacos, cheese and dumplings?
After dinner guests continued the love celebration under the stars with endless drinks, laughter and lots of dancing!
