From the moment I spoke to Jess on the phone, I could tell how lovely and sweet her nature was and I was looking forward to injecting this in to her wedding styling. When we met up at her venue, Athol Hall, her vintage garden party theme began to come to life.
Jess and Jan wanted their to be touches of vintage, amongst an overall rustic, garden party vibe. We had chalkboard signage welcoming her guests down to her garden ceremony, which was created through elements of our hire collection, such as our rustic timber benches and white timber screens. Jess wanted to feature our white timber screens as their alter because she wasn’t interested in having a standard arch you see at most weddings. After their ceremony, guests walked across the garden to relax on picnic rugs, play garden games and enjoy refreshments being passed around by the Athol Hall staff members.
After canapé hour, their guests headed up to the hall for the rustic reception dinner, which was a delicious BBQ style banquet. The guest tables were in long banquet formations, covered in white cloths and lined with a vintage silver and white lace runners. On top of this we layered an assortment of jam jar and mercury, crystal cut tea light candles, as well as gorgeous pops of florals in glass jars and crystal cut bud vases. Their florals were wild and colourful in style; beautifully crafted together by their lovely florist Jess, from Sweet Pea and Honey Bee.
Tied around each guest’s napkin, was a kraft paper name tag with a peachy-apricot ribbon, to compliment the vintage theme. Also on each guests place setting was their wedding favour, which was individual bags of salted, caramel popcorn- yum! When guests had a chance to look up, they could appreciate the magical fairy lighting draped across the ceiling.
After dinner, all the guests headed to the dance floor or if that wasn’t their idea of fun, they could head outside to their interactive photo booth station or they could sit and pose for a hand sketched caricature portrait! The fun at this wedding was endless and it was all beautifully captured by Ann Marie Yuen Photography, thank you for sharing your gorgeous photos with us of their big day (see below).
