Q: What is the difference between Styling and Planning?

This is a very good question and an important one of course! At Honey Lane, we offer our Styling Services as a stand-alone, or you are able to also choose to add on Planning or Partial Planning. Following is a summary on each of these broad service we offer. Remember that the cost of all of these elements are additional and will be proposed to you in the design stage, unless of course the items are in our Styling Collection – in which case they are included!

STYLING

To put it simply, Styling encapsulates all of the objects brought together for the wedding that has visual appeal. Sometimes they service a practical purpose, and other times they are just there to look pretty!

When we are engaged for Styling, we are there to set up and pack down your ceremony and reception, and then we leave for the festivities. Of course, we can add an on—the-day coordinator for you to have with you for a period of approx. 8 hours on the day of your wedding to be there as the main point of contact for all of your suppliers and vendors (even those outside of the styling realm). This coordinator service is included with our planning services.

Here is a list and although it may not be entirely exhaustive, we have tried to be as thorough as possible. Of course, not all elements night be relevant for your particular wedding:

  • Marquee

  • Lighting

  • Flooring

  • Cutlery

  • On the day signage

  • On the day stationary (menus, placecards)

  • Flowers

  • Candles

  • Linen

  • Glasswear

  • Crockery

  • Table Numbers

  • Favours

  • Drink Station Styling

  • Wishing Well

  • Guest Book

 

A note on runsheets – when we are engaged as your stylists, we complete a run sheet but this is to cover our own movements as well as those of the suppliers we have organised for you. It is not a complete run sheet (which is done for you under our planning and on the day coordination services)

PLANNING

Planning extends to the planning of all aspects of your wedding day and is a much larger piece of work involving the up-keep of a budget, and a full run sheet. You will also have a dedicated wedding planner with you for the duration of your wedding to oversee all suppliers and vendors and be the main point of contact on the day (or approx. 8 hours).

You wedding planner can attend as many or as little vendor meetings as you like such as dress fittings, menu tastings and band viewings. For each of the elements you ask us to source for you, we will bring to you our top 3 recommendations for you to chose from. And of course if you are not happy with these, we shall source you more!

Here is a list of those elements which are coordinated under our planning service which are not included in Styling. Again, some elements may not be relevant to your wedding:

There is an option to take a Partial Planning Service which allows you to choose 4 of the elements above for us to arrange for you.
