2024 Fall Edit: Top 6 Wedding Dress Trends from Bridal Fashion Week

Bridal Fashion Week Fall 24 showcased the return of extravagance to the forefront of fashion. We love a sticky-beak into the US to catch a sneak peek of what's destined to make waves on our shores next year. Here is our edit of the 2024 Wedding dress trends that are set to redefine bridal fashion in the coming year.

Trend 1: The Return of the Big Dress

Big dresses are back in focus! It’s clear there has been a shift back to the ‘main dress’’. The bigger the better and why not when this is possibly the only time in your life you will ever have the opportunity to wear a ‘princess dress’. Most likely driven by the trend of multiple outfit changes, brides are opting for voluminous gowns to exchange their vows, and saving the sexy sheath dress for their 2nd & 3rd looks.

Trend 2: The Re-imagined bodice

The bodice has officially been ‘elevated’ . Statement bodices were a thing of beauty this season and we love this incredible dress by Amsale. In a nod to the ongoing floral trend, designers played with the concept of large floral pieces which was a refreshing departure from the streamlined bodice design we have seen before.

Trend 3: Transformative dresses

Is it a skirt, is it a train is it a shrug? With the multi-look trend, brides are wanting dresses that can be transformed throughout the day. We’re seeing removable sleeves, wings, capes, and detachable overskirts. Brides are loving creating new looks for their reception, wedding photos & exits.

Trend 4: bows

Many designers could be seen putting a bow on it! From petite ribbons to dramatic looped fabric pieces, bow trains and bow shoulder adornments. The bow was used to dramatic effect by many designers.

Trend 5: 80’s statement shoulders

As they say, every thing old is new again. The 80’s statement shoulder made a re-appearance this season in contemporary bridal fashion. We loved the contrast of the soft lace and sharp edge!

There you have it, our pick of the looks. So many divine gowns to choose from…such a pity you can only wear it once.
