Lydia and Yegon knew from the start that they wanted their wedding to be a quintessential Sydney experience. When it comes to unforgettable weddings in Sydney, few locations can compete with the famous beauty of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. What's more iconic than saying "I do" in the shadows of the bridge and Opera House? It could be a bucket list item, right?!
Bennelong, inside The Opera House, was an easy choice for this Sydney Autumn Wedding. Our down-to-earth couple wanted to get the most out of their wedding experience, and decided to have an intimate marriage ceremony in May, and a larger family reception in late June. This unique approach allowed them to truly focus on the important commitment they were making on their wedding day, and focus on the ceremony. The beautiful ceremony was a small, intimate affair. It was clear that they were undoubtedly each other's people. The genuine love and sincerity of the service was felt by all their closest friends and family.
A standout styling moment were the mirrored plinths adorned with a cascading tulip arrangement. It made for an impressive backdrop for the vows (not that we could compete with the Harbour Bridge, of course) and the stunning floral arrangement was a similar engineering masterpiece!
After the ceremony, the guests enjoyed drinks and exquisitely prepared canapes as they were able to mingle and toast the couple while enjoying the stunning view.
Drawing inspiration from the reflective shapes installed at the Opera House, our stylist’s vision for the wedding design was for it to work in harmony with the environment, allowing the venue’s natural beauty to accentuate the decor. The end result was a perfect blend of romance contrasted with architectural elegance. The tablescape was kept modern and simple, allowing the unique mirrored place cards and striking floral arrangements to be have the ‘hero moment’ they deserved.
A Sydney wedding is a fabulous choice if you have international guests on your list. For overseas visitors, the novelty of attending a wedding at The Opera House with the Harbour Bridge as the backdrop will definitely go down as a lifetime highlight!
